Recommended Education Blogs
Here are two blogs that I would use:
1. Mrs Martin's Blog
This Blog has great resources and links
and has a very student friendly style
I would use with upper primary
http://janetmartin.edublogs.org/
2. Mrs. Cassidy's Classroom Blog
This Classroom blog has each students blog linked and demonstrates a good use of movies and student involvement. This I would show to lower primary as an example.

Questions Regarding Copyright:
From the Australian Copyright Council
Can I copy material from the internet for research?
For research purposes a ‘fair use’ amount of text can be used, 10% for texts, it is also important to check the copyright statements.
What constitutes research and fair use?
If certain things are considered then the use can be deemed fair:
The purpose of the use, the nature of the work, the effect of using the work etc.
Can students (university or school) use music in videos that they make?
It is necessary to get permission for music and videos

New Literacy Activities
3 Key ideas from:
Happily Blogging @Belmore South.
Pericles, K. (2008) SCAN, 27(2) pp4-6.
Three ideas from this reading that teachers would find useful, as they use information literacy, and for classroom practice they demonstrate how new literacies can be incorporated.
-Students are using blogs to integrate many KLA's, e.g.: football results - Maths.
-Students work on projects that engage them through the use of the technology, e.g.: videos of their performances.
-students have a high level of ownership over the activities, e.g.: blogging their own farewells including photos.
